reflection:
Today the Catholic Church celebrated St. Barnabas, Apostle. We can find the life story of St. Barnabas in writing Luke ie Acts, particularly chapter 4,9,11,13 and 15. He came from Cyprus, of Jewish descent from the tribe of Levi. His real name Joseph but the apostles changed to Barnabas means Son of Encouragement. Bya bar in Aramaic means Son of the Prophet. The meaning of this name, is very attached to his personality. He met Paul and brought them to the disciples and tells the story of the conversion of Saul to Paul on the road to Damascus. When Paul was in Tarsus, Barnabas pick him up and brought him to Antioch. At Antioch, the Lord God the Holy Spirit to work in earnest in them. At one point, with fasting and prayer, the Holy Spirit overshadowed them, and said: "Barnabas and Paul Me for the work I have given to them!" After fasting and praying, they laid hands on them and sent them off. They sailed to Cyprus. In Antioch, for the followers of Christ were first called Christians.
Psalms, Shout to the Lord.
He has done marvelous deeds; His security has done since his election and resolved. The phrase new song is an expression of a new life, grateful, and trust in God's saving work and not only marvelous but also the justice of God in front of the nations, and the faithfulness of God to His people.
Salvation to the ends of the earth. Security of God applies to all nations to the ends of the earth. This is news of great joy. Let all the earth rejoice, and sing praise to Him who is absolutely sovereign over all His creation. Kumandangkanlah then a new song as an expression of gratitude for what he has made himself the Son of God in Him. In Christ's people firmly believe that he will come to judge the truth. God has done miracles, even now he is doing, and will continue to do so.
Meditation: Praise the Lord for he has to keep working until the reign of God completely dominate the world with justice and eternal truth. Still Are the reasons to rejoice and give thanks for His salvation?
Gospel today, command and prohibition.
Jesus sent out His twelve disciples to preach the kingdom of heaven is at hand. He commanded them to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers and cast out demons. He also made regulations that must be adhered to, and that can not be violated, among other things: do not deviate from the specified field, do not demand profit, not fussing with things corporeal. Lord Jesus to guarantee the life and never harm his servants. Such an important position His servants in the eyes of God, so that He promised that those who receive them will be blessed, but that was rejected be severely punished.
Is our reason for being unfaithful? Concern the Lord Jesus on the lives and needs of his servants; His appreciation of their service, as well as an understanding of the challenges to be faced, we realize how precious His servants in the eyes of God. If this is the case, we tegakah hurt Jesus by picking fields and storm fighting position?
Meditation: Our testimony not only in the form of words and type of service, but in a life completely.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, You chose me in Christ to be your child and equip myself with the Holy Spirit to lead your life to this world. How can I thank thee adequately for all that you gave me the privilege to serve you? Amen.
